A South Korean research team has developed a technology allowing Internet users network services more than 10 times faster than the current ones.

The test robot is seen moving fast from side to side.

The moving speed has been sharply reduced after the speed of the Internet network is increased.

The test robot under test at a research lab in Seoul was remote-controlled by a researcher in Daejeon, about 260 kilometers southeast of Seoul, on a real-time basis.

The newly-developed technology enables Internet users to enjoy 25 Gbps data transmission services only by upgrading telecommunications equipment and devices required to provide Internet services.

It takes only around a second to download three full 1-gigabyte movies.

While using the existing optical fiber resources, the new technology is known to speed up the activity of laser by 10 times to transmit data much faster.

"This technology is expected to be commercialized within 1 to 2 years. We hope that the market for the equipment and services related to this technology, which can be infrastructural support for the 5G network, will grow at the same time.

The global market of the new technology which also can be used in the virtual reality and augmented reality sectors is expected to reach 21 billion dollars in 2024.
