South Korea has launched its first magnetic levitation train service in the country's western port city of Incheon.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said that the unmanned train which went into service today (Wednesday) runs the 6.1 kilometer track between South Korea's gateway Incheon International Airport and the nearby Yongyu Station in 15 minutes.
The maglev train is free to passengers and runs at a maximum speed of 80 kilometers an hour although it's designed to speed up to 110 kilometers per hour. One train can carry up to 230 passengers.
The operation made South Korea the world's second country to provide such maglev train services, following Japan.
