Former first lady Lee Hee-Ho, the widow of late President Kim Dae-Jung, is set to make a four-day visit to North Korea from tomorrow (Wednesday).

The Kim Dae-Jung Peace Center said Lee, accompanied by 18 delegates picked by the center, will directly fly to the North on a special South Korean flight at an official invitation from the North.

It was not clear whether Lee would meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un during her visit designed for what the 93-year-old widow hopes could help ease tension between the two Koreas.

A unification ministry spokeswoman told reporters on Monday that Lee's trip is personal so that she has not been asked to deliver any official message to the North. She added that no government officials will accompany Lee.
