South Korea's top celebrities have gathered to film a welcome video for Pope Francis, who is scheduled to visit the country in August.

Earlier today (Tuesday), a star-studded promotional video titled 'Koinonia' was released on the web.

In this video, about 40 top Korean celebrities of Catholic background, including actor Ahn Sung-ki and actress Kim Tae-hee, recorded a song to celebrate the Pontiff's visit to Korea next month.

The song 'Koinonia' was written by a renowned Korean singer-songwriter, Roh Young-shim. The title comes from a Greek word meaning communion or joint participation. In this case, the word signifies the Pope's visit as a gift for the Catholic community in Korea.
