Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said that it is important for South Korea not raise issues again when an agreement has been reached, including the issue of 'comfort women.'

Returning to Tokyo following his first bilateral summit with President Park Geun-Hye, Abe appeared on Japanese broadcaster BS Fuji's television program on Monday and said that Japan's position is that the World War Two comfort women issue was completely resolved in a settlement agreement back in 1965.

However, Abe said that it is important to settle the issue so that it will not be an obstacle for future generations and for future-oriented cooperation.

He added that it is possible to find common ground through negotiations although the citizens of the two countries may find it difficult to be completely satisfied with a resolution.
