Prosecutors have indicted former Korean Air (KAL) vice president Cho Hyun-Ah, under fire for her infamous 'nut rage', for violating aviation security law and hindering a government probe.

The prosecutors said that Cho, the eldest daughter of KAL's chairman, has been charged with obstruction of justice as her alleged in-flight tantrum and violence on Dec. 5 threatened the safety of the flight and caused confusion in law and order.

She is also alleged to have directed KAL officials' interference with the transport ministry's investigation by destroying documents and fabricating evidence.

Cho could face up to 15 years in jail if found guilty of all the charges she faces, according to lawyers.

A transport ministry official has also been indicted on charges of revealing details related with the ministry's probes into the case to the airline.
