Snow warnings in Jeongeup, Sunchang, and Muju in Jeollabuk-do...North Jeolla Province, Emergency Phase One Operations

Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province said last night (7th) that it operated the first phase of the emergency headquarters of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters due to heavy snow warnings in Jeongeup, Muju, and Sunchang.

The province plans to spray snow removal agents such as calcium chloride on major passways in the province and strengthen support for livestock and greenhouses.

In addition, we will send a text message to the elderly, children, and chronically ill people to refrain from outdoor activities to prevent casualties caused by falling temperatures.

The Korea Meteorological Administration predicts that snow will fall mainly in western regions such as Sunchang and Jeongeup by this morning (8th), and the expected snowfall will be 2-7cm in the west and 1-5cm in the east.
