[Incheon] Incheon Line 1 Songdo Extension Project Re-applies for 'Preta' next year

The additional extension project of Songdo International City on Incheon Subway Line 1, which has been put on hold due to lack of economic feasibility, will be promoted again next year.

The Incheon Metropolitan Government said it plans to reapply for a preliminary feasibility study on the extension of Incheon Line No. 1 Songdo District 8 project as soon as it completes consultations with the Ministry of Strategy and Finance next year.

This project was not selected as a preliminary project at the Financial Business Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Economy and Finance held in May this year because it was judged to be less urgent due to the delay in the promotion of private investment projects.

However, the Incheon Metropolitan Government believes that the opening of the subway is essential to resolve traffic difficulties as more than 9,000 households and 53,000 people move into the 8th section of Songdo.

Incheon City originally planned to extend the 1.74km section from the current Songdo Dalbit Festival Park Station to Misong Middle School in District 8 of Songdo and build two new stations with a total project cost of 420 billion won by 2033.
