The fire on the 8th floor near Yatap Station in Bundang...More than 300 rescues and evacuations

At around 4:40 p.m. today (3rd), a large fire broke out in a shopping mall with five basement floors and eight ground floors in Yatap-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Of the 300 people inside the building, 240 were rescued, and 70 were evacuated.

More than 130 people inhaled smoke, and 35 of them were taken to hospitals, but no life was reported to be in critical condition.

Fire authorities once issued the second stage of response to mobilize personnel and equipment from 8 to 14 nearby fire stations and started extinguishing them.

After about 30 minutes, the fire department lowered the response stage to the first stage at around 5:20 p.m. as a large fire was caught.

The fire department believes that a fire broke out in the kitchen of the snack bar on the first floor of the building, and plans to investigate the exact cause of the fire.
