Leaving my disabled 3-year-old daughter in the bathtub...the probation of one's father's execution

A suspended sentence has been given to his biological father, who left his disabled 3-year-old daughter in a bathtub with the water on and killed her.

The Cheongju District Court sentenced A in his 40s, who was handed over to trial on charges of manslaughter, to six months in prison and one year of probation.

The court said it left a disabled child who needed the absolute protection of an adult to die, but considered the fact that he would suffer mental pain by blaming himself for the rest of his life and that his spouse was pleading for leniency.

In August 2022, A was charged with leaving his disabled 3-year-old daughter to play in the bathtub with her twin sister at an apartment in Osong-eup, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do, and leaving her to die for about 20 minutes.
