The Korea Music Contents Association, which runs the nation's popular music chart Circle Chart, has decided to consider excluding singers suspected of involvement from the chart to prevent "tamping" that has recently emerged as an issue, or prior contact before the contract expires.

"The Circle Chart, run by the association, will consider excluding album and music sales from agencies and related artists suspected of 'tamping' from the aggregate," Mkhon said in a statement today.

"We will consider excluding them from music broadcasting programs and major music awards in Korea where CircleChart provides data," he added.

The sales data of CircleChart is applied to eight ranking music programs in Korea, including "Mnet," and to domestic popular music awards such as "CircleChart Music Awards," "Mama Awards" and "Golden Disc Awards."

"We hope that Min Hee-jin, former representative of the Mkhon Association, will reveal the exact position and facts of the allegations recently reported by a media outlet," Mkhon said. "Newzins should humbly wait for the judiciary's judgment if they fail to reach an agreement."

The Mkhon Association also called on the National Assembly and the government to overhaul related laws and systems to maintain order in the pop music industry.
