National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik said he was appalled by Yoon Suk Yeol's further statement and proposed a meeting of leaders of the ruling and opposition parties immediately to clean up national instability as quickly as possible.

Chairman Woo issued a statement and pointed out that the president's statement should not cause another misjudgment or social confusion.

He then criticized that declaring emergency martial law to warn the National Assembly that democratic constitutional order is not a means of politics but a historical, social and national consensus is absolutely unacceptable.
