Born in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do in 1924, the deceased joined the Daegu 1st Training Center in December 1950, leaving his wife who could not even register her marriage, and was killed in the Battle of Nojeonpyeong in Inje-gun, Gangwon-do, on August 28 of the following year.
In September, the excavation team discovered Sergeant Park's remains in Seohwa-ri, Seohwa-myeon, Inje-gun, and finally confirmed the identity of the deceased three months after the excavation based on the identification table, rank and genetic analysis.
As a result, a total of 242 South Korean soldiers have been identified since the start of excavation of remains in April 2000.
