After the "emergency martial law" incident, three-term lawmaker Lee Yang-soo was appointed as the chairman of the "political stabilization task force" in the ruling party, which will deal with the roadmap for President Yoon's orderly resignation.

Kwak Kyu-taek, a senior spokesman for the People's Power, said today that the decision was made after approval from lawmakers at a closed parliamentary meeting.

Chung Hee-yong, a second-term lawmaker, and first-term lawmakers Park Soo-min, Seo Ji-young, Ahn Sang-hoon, and Kim So-hee were listed as members of the TF.

Rep. Lee explained that he will have the opportunity to check various matters and report them to the party and the people through daily meetings on how to stabilize the political situation early by pushing the party.

When asked about the possibility of discussing the president's resignation or shortening his term, he said, "We will discuss it without any restrictions," adding that since the TF is a working body, the final decision will be made after gathering consensus from the leadership and lawmakers.

Rep. Lee immediately met with reporters after the TF's first meeting and told reporters that the deadline for early resignation will be decided by the party leader, but there will have to be a leadership move (action) before the second impeachment vote scheduled for the 14th.
