Super pure localization...Supplied to semiconductor manufacturing process to demonstrate

The Ministry of Environment announced that it has established its own ultra-pure production technology demonstration facility in the SK Siltron plant in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and started supplying it to the semiconductor manufacturing process today (9th).

Ultra-pure water is water with little impurities and is used in precision industries such as cleaning semiconductor surfaces.

The Ministry of Environment and the Korea Institute of Environmental Industry and Technology started developing ultra-pure water in 2019 to respond to Japan's export regulations on semiconductor materials, and spent a total of 44.3 billion won, including 32.5 billion won in state coffers, in the localization process.

Producing ultrapure water requires high-level water treatment technology, such as making the concentration of ionic substances less than one-trillionth, so only some countries currently have production technology.

The demonstration facility, which started operation this time, is said to have developed its own design, construction, and operation technology and localized 70% of its core equipment.

Ultra-pure daily maximum production is 1,200 tons.
