Exports of agricultural and fishery foods produced in Jeollanam-do reached an all-time high this year.

In recognition of its quality, it also participated in the Chinese agri-food fair to show the taste of Korea.

With a series of export contracts, attention is being paid to whether it will be able to increase the competitiveness of K-seafood in the Chinese market.

Gopchang Gim in Jindo, Jeollanam-do, which produces earlier than regular water, is also constantly operating factories ahead of domestic and overseas shipments.

Kim, also called the black semiconductor of the sea, exported KRW 400 billion in Jeollanam-do alone, and domestic exports far exceeded KRW 1 trillion.

The globally popular seaweeds in South Jeolla Province were also very popular at the Shenzhen Agri-Food Fair in China.

Seaweed processed products such as seaweed and snacks submitted at this fair were recognized for their taste and quality, and inquiries from overseas buyers and companies followed.

In particular, Jindo-gun, the nation's No. 1 seaweed producer, signed an export agreement worth 10 billion won with a Chinese company, including seaweed food and local specialties.

South Jeolla Province, which aims to export 1 billion dollars of agricultural and fishery foods a year, produces 90 percent of the nation's seaweed.

K-Seafood has laid the groundwork for its entry into the Chinese market through the Shenzhen Agri-Food Fair, which involves more than 150,000 food industry workers.
