According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Food Price Index stood at 127.5 last month, up 0.5% from last month.
The index compares the average price between 2014 and 2016 with 100, and 127.5 is the highest level since April last year.
By item group, oil and dairy prices have risen. In particular, oilseeds rose 7.5% to 164.1, but prices jumped sharply on the possibility of palm oil production falling due to Southeast Asian rainfall.
Dairy products also rose 0.6% to 139.9 on lower milk production in Western Europe.
