POSCO "Low risk of disruption in operations..."The cause of the fire will be determined"

Regarding the Pohang Steelworks fire that broke out early today (10th), POSCO said there is low concern about operational disruption.

In a call with YTN, a POSCO official explained that the total amount of operations will remain at the previous level by increasing production at the remaining blast furnaces except for the FINEX facility that caught fire.

He added that a total of eight people were working at the scene at the time of the fire, and one of them suffered a light burn on his arm.

POSCO plans to establish a recovery plan after identifying the exact cause of the fire and property damage as soon as it completes extinguishing work such as cleaning up the residual fire.
