Prime Minister Han Duck-soo said the United Nations should be the center of global solidarity.

Prime Minister Han met with U.N. General Assembly President Philemon Yang at the Lotte Hotel in Seoul today and said that conflicts and geopolitical competition are intensifying around the world and emerging security threats such as climate change and artificial intelligence are intensifying.

He then stressed that Korea, a beneficiary of multilateralism, including the United Nations, will play its necessary role in achieving sustainable peace and prosperity in the international community with a global vision.

The Prime Minister's Office also expressed concern about North Korea's recent deployment to Russia, posing a significant security threat to the Korean Peninsula and the international community, and asked for support for the August 15 reunification doctrine.

Prime Minister Han had a luncheon with the delegation of the U.N. General Assembly Chairman's Council, including Yang and former Prime Minister Han Seung-soo, and exchanged views on regional circumstances, international issues, and ways to cooperate with the U.N.
