CES, the world's largest annual consumer electronics trade show, has opened in Las Vegas, the United States.

Normally, a fierce rivalry among the world's leading television makers takes place just ahead of the trade fair. This year, Samsung Electronics introduced a Micro LED TV model with an expandable display, while LG Electronics disclosed a rollable OLED TV set.

Samsung's brand new TV, called "The Wall", features an ultra large-sized, 146-inch screen. The TV has the ability to make modular displays, expanding or reducing the total screen size as required.

"The strength of this modular TV comes from the technology which allows users to add modules to make their TV bigger, in any configuration, and make the resolution higher."

An additional competition in the TV sector has resulted from each maker's efforts to add artificial intelligence to the TV sets.

Amid the rapid chase by China in technology, the world TV leaders Samsung and LG have been drawing high attention from across the world to their new products.
