You may meet robots when visiting a convenience store in South Korea.

Above all, you don't need to be embarrassed.

If customers stand before the cashier count, robots will hail you first.

"Very nice to meet you. You know how to make a payment, don't you?"

Customers can not only pay their bills without any cashier, but also have conversations and exchange jokes with the robot.

"(Would you crack a joke, Veny?) A king that parks is 'Park-ing'."

[Kim Yeong-Hyuk, senior executive, Korea Seven Co.]
"Through emotional communication with each other, the robot will be able to advance an era where robots and humans can coexist."

The robot is in concierge service for shoppers at a large-size discount store in Seoul.

The concierge robot, named "Pepper", provides customers with information on a large repertoire of dishes, recommending proper food.

"This is a Japanese-style spicy, mild-flavored curry that features 10 different vegetables. How about trying a Southeast Asian-style curry?"

Equipped with an automated-driving mode, the robot also can help customers to find the products they want to buy.

[Kim Ki-Nam, official, E-Mart]
"The robot is equipped with functions to provide information on products and recommend proper goods for customers."

With the robots evolving very fast, people are having real anxiety over seeing their jobs replaced by robots.
