CNBLUE's Jung Yong-Hwa joins military

Jung Yong-Hwa, the leader of the renowned rock band CNBLUE, has joined his mandatory military service on March 5th.

Jung will serve as an active duty soldier after receiving a five-week basic training at an Army training camp in South Korea's eastern Gangwon Province.

The 29-year-old multitalented entertainer bid farewell to fans on March 4th through his social network service accounts including Twitter, attaching a photo of himself with a buzz cut.

Jung rose to stardom at home as well as in China after he starred in several television series such as "You're Beautiful" and "Heartstrings".

Meanwhile, K-pop male act BigBang's Taeyang and Daesung are set to enlist in the military on March 12 and the following day, respectively.

G-Dragon has already been on military duty since February 27th.
