The local fantasy blockbuster "Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds" has topped 10 million viewers in less than 20 days after its release.
It became the first local flick to hit the milestone this year and the 16th Korean film ever to do so.
Also, it is the first time that a fantasy film based on a webtoon has drawn in a cumulative audience of more than 10 million.
Industry experts attribute the success of the movie to its novel storyline featuring the afterlife as well as its special effects which are as good as those of Hollywood movies.
The filming of part two of the movie is known to have already been completed, targeting the summer of this year.
